INAUGURATION OF THE MODERN TERMINAL IN SAN PEDRO DE MACORÍS

Mr. Junior Castro, president of the Association of Bus Owners of the Transport of the Province of La Altagracia (APTPRA) performs on behalf of this institution the inaugural act of the APTPRA Terminal in San Pedro de Marcarís, with the highest standards in contemporary architecture.

The Terminal consists of: Comfortable waiting room, modern bathrooms, administrative offices, exclusive area for drivers and administrative staff, cafeteria, ticket office, among others.

In addition to modernizing this terminal, the Bávaro - Punta Cana terminal is planned to offer passengers more comfort and better service.

APTPRA SUPPORTS SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY WEEK
FROM THE INTRANT

The National Institute of Transit and Land Transport (INTRANT) is celebrating the “National Week of Sustainable Mobility” for the first time in the country, with the aim of promoting the benefits of using non-motorized and environmentally friendly modes of transport.

From Saturday 22nd with the “World Day without Cars”, until Saturday 29th September, activities were carried out in Greater Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal, Nagua, Boca Chica, Higüey supported by APTPRA and other cities in the interior.

Referring to the topic, INTRANT's executive director, engineer Claudia Franchesca De los Santos, explained that the National Week of Sustainable Mobility seeks to promote the proper, safe and responsible use of public transport, as well as non-motorized modes of transport.

“We want to change the behavior of users in their ways of transporting themselves,” said Claudia Franchesca, and also recalled that among the actions that INTRANT has in progress is raising awareness and educating citizens about the use of transport from an environmental care perspective.

“With these new buses, manufactured with the highest quality standards, we are ready to provide a safe and efficient transportation service, connecting our province of La Altagracia with the rest of the country,” said the transportation entrepreneur. He said that, with modern infrastructure and high-quality vehicles, APTPRA is prepared to offer a safe, efficient and comfortable transportation service that connects Bávaro with Santo Domingo and beyond.

“We will continue to create jobs, promote economic development and offer a transportation service that is not only the best in the Dominican Republic, but in the entire Caribbean and Central America, because our commitment to the progress and well-being of our community remains unwavering,” said the Altagraciano transportation executive.

Castro Montilla thanked the investors, collaborators, friends and associates, whose unwavering support has been the driving force that has driven this dream to reality. He also thanked the Martí group, representative of the Volvo brand, since thanks to its collaboration and financing, APTPRA acquired the latest generation vehicles manufactured in Brazil, six of them with Marcopolo bodies, generation 8, and two with Comil bodies.”

The new terminal will offer a transportation service from Bávaro to Santo Domingo and vice versa with eight buses, operating from 5:30 in the morning to 5:00 in the afternoon, as well as shipping service available from 7:00 in the morning to 6:00 in the afternoon. The event was attended by executives and collaborators of the company, civil and military authorities of La Altagracia, as well as businessmen, transporters and the media.

BUS TERMINAL MORE
MODERN OF THE COUNTRY

With an investment of more than 400 million pesos, which includes the purchase of 8 buses, the Association of Public Transport Bus Owners of the La Altagracia province (APTPRA) inaugurated the most modern station in the country in Bávaro.

The new bus station, located on Avenida Estados Unidos, in the Friusa sector of Bávaro, has two levels on an area of three thousand square meters of land and 970 meters of construction, which comes to the area to contribute to the progress and development of the province of La Altagracia.

It consists of a waiting room designed for 80 people, a cafeteria, an area for sending packages, functional bathrooms and an executive lounge for meetings, a nursing room, a ticket office, a children's area and 50 surveillance cameras to ensure security in all areas of the terminal.

For the convenience of users, the station has six commercial premises, eight parking spaces for buses, a sound system that provides background music and useful information for customers, and Wi-Fi service.

In his speech, Mr. Junior Castro Montilla, President of APTPRA, considered that this moment not only marks a milestone in the history of the association, but also represents a monument to the joint effort and tireless dedication of each individual who has contributed to the project.
